Associate, Originations – A/R and SCF

Role Overview:

Our client, a high-growth supply chain and working capital platform, is seeking a dynamic Associate of Originations to join a high growth global working capital platform backed by  world-renowned asset manager. This role will collaborate with senior leadership to support the deal process from origination to structuring and execution of transactions.

As part of a tight-knit, well positioned working capital financing business, the role requires a team-oriented self-starter, who is polished, efficient and able to communicate at all levels (internally, externally and with third party service providers).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside senior leadership to support asset origination and revenue generation efforts, anticipating the needs of the team throughout the deal cycle
  • Develop a holistic understanding of the firm's product offerings to deliver tailored working-capital solutions, incorporating the perspectives of the firm, its stakeholders, clients, and client counterparties.
  • Take ownership of the sales cycle, from providing support to senior leadership during initial prospecting to structuring financial products and ensuring programs are delivered in a way that excites and exceeds client objectives.
  • Provide proactive relationship management, anticipating client needs/requests and seizing every opportunity to deepen relationships
  • Prepare transaction presentations including structuring elements and key considerations
  • Effectively communicate information through slide decks and other forms of written communication
  • Analyze credits, prepare internal memos and build financial models
  • Prepare deal term sheets and assist in deal documentation
  • Work on monthly and quarterly updates for Board and internal teams
  • Lead in proactive targeting and outreach to new opportunities
  • Collaborate with other members of the team across credit, risk, operations, finance, legal, and technology

Required Qualifications

  • Relevant work experience at one or more of the following types of firms: investment bank (investment banking or leveraged finance/structured finance), credit research.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, with an excellent academic record
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in banking, strategy and/or financial planning and analysis at one or more of the following types of firms: investment bank, corporate bank, investment management, credit research, fintech
  • Understanding or background with capital markets, financial services, credit products and technology
  • Desire to work in a small financial services startup environment and embrace new challenges and constant learning
  • Strong project management and follow-through skills, ability to manage multiple projects
  • Strong writing and presentation skills with high attention to detail
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with CRM systems/processes a plus
  • Strong team player with an entrepreneurial predisposition and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and genuine willingness and desire to learn

Compensation

$130,000 - $140,000 base salary, plus discretionary bonus.

Location

New York City - 4 days per week in office.
