Purpose of the role
Reporting to the Director, Data and Analytics, the incumbent ensures the quality, compliance, and security of the organizations data. They develop and maintain analytical tools and governance processes to support decision-making and enhance team efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive data dictionary documenting definitions, owners, and usage rules.
- Map data lineage from source to consumption to ensure transparency and enable impact analysis.
- Define and implement governance policies, standards, and procedures that ensure data quality, compliance, and security.
- Collaborate with business teams to establish data management rules and a consistent enterprise glossary.
- Coordinate data quality initiatives by identifying and correcting issues at the source.
- Oversee the management of technical and functional metadata to facilitate data discovery and understanding.
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards to monitor data governance and performance indicators.
- Conduct exploratory analyses to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Create automated reports and visualizations that support informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with the analytics team on cross-functional projects related to data quality and governance.
- Train and raise awareness among stakeholders on best practices in data governance and the use of analytical tools.

- Impeccable documentation: You rigorously document dictionaries, glossaries, and reports to ensure clarity and transparency.
- Adaptability in a dynamic environment: You navigate technical considerations and business priorities with ease.
- Attention to detail: You apply a rigorous methodology in managing data and metadata.
- Expertise in e-commerce/retail: Experience in these areas is an asset you can leverage with confidence.
Requirements
- 5 to 7 years of experience in a role combining data governance and analytics
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Business Intelligence, Analytics, Statistics, Administration, or IT
- Proficiency in a data governance tool (Purview, Collibra, Informatica, Alation, etc.)
- Expertise in Power BI (data modeling, DAX, dashboards)
- Knowledge of SQL and/or Python/R (an asset)
- Bilingual in French and English, spoken and written
- Experience with DevOps and Microsoft 365 (an asset)
- Experience in retail (an asset)
- Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure, AWS) and data integration tools (an asset)
