About the job Reliability Engineer

The Reliability Engineer supports the Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) by monitoring the technical reliability of the fleet in accordance with EASA Part-CAMO and Part-M requirements. The role involves collecting and analyzing technical data to ensure aircraft reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement of the Maintenance Programme (AMP).

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, process, and analyze technical and operational data (e.g., technical delays, unscheduled removals, repetitive defects) for all aircraft under CAMO management.
  • Monitor and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including:
    - Mean Time Between Unscheduled Removals (MTBUR)
    - Dispatch Reliability
    - Repeat/Recurring Defects
    - Deferred Defects (MEL/CDL trends)
  • Identify reliability trends and potential safety risks; initiate and follow up on root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
  • Produce monthly and quarterly Reliability Reports to meet internal standards and EASA compliance (e.g., AMC1 CAMO.A.305(g))
  • Support the Reliability Programme as required by M.A.302 / CAMO.A.305, including assessment of the AMP effectiveness and escalation/de-escalation recommendations
  • Coordinate with engineering, maintenance providers, and aircraft manufacturers to investigate chronic issues and recommend technical solutions
  • Ensure proper documentation and traceability of all reliability-related activities and recommendations
  • Participate in internal audits and regulatory inspections (e.g., Competent Authority oversight).
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to safety performance and operational efficiency
  • Interface with OEMs and vendors to address in-service reliability issues and ensure feedback loops
  • Contribute to the Management of Change and Safety Management System (SMS) when reliability trends indicate potential safety implications

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a CAMO or Technical Services function within an EASA-approved airline or operator
  • Strong working knowledge of EASA Part-CAMO, Part-M, and Part-145
  • Familiarity with MSG-3 methodology and maintenance programme development
  • Competence in using maintenance and reliability software (e.g., AMOS, OASES, TRAX)
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI or data visualization tools is an advantage
  • Strong analytical skills and structured approach to problem-solving
  • Effective communication and technical report writing skills
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)

Preferred / Desirable

  • Type training or experience on A320 aircraft family
  • Exposure to Safety Management Systems (SMS) and risk-based oversight processes
  • Understanding of warranty and cost reduction through reliability initiatives
  • Training or certification in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Six Sigma, or similar
