About the Role
This is a full-time opportunity located at Tarong Power Stations in the South Burnett with a major client in the energy industry.
The Instrumentation and Control Technician (I&C) role resides within the Electrical/I&C Maintenance Team and reports directly to the Instrument & Control Team Leader. The I&C Technician performs fault finding, investigations and analysis on technically complex plant, systems and processes. On a day-to-day basis, this diverse role carries out preventive and corrective maintenance, identifies and implements projects to ensure plant efficiency.
Dependant on your qualifications, skills and experience, this role can be offered as a Level 1, 2 or 3 Technician.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of process instrumentation
- Carry out complex fault finding and implement innovative solutions
- Provide technical assistance to the Electrical and Mechanical Teams and mentor Electrical/I&C Apprentices
- Monitor and evaluate plant performance to advise opportunities for improvement in availability, reliability and cost effectiveness
- Complete assigned technical work in a safe and timely manner
Essential Requirements
- QLD Electrical Mechanic Licence (Mandatory)
- Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control
- Previous experience in an Instrumentation and Control role
- Understanding of production processes in a heavy industrial environment
- Willingness to participate in weekend call-out roster for after-hours response
Desirable Requirements
- Associate Degree in Engineering
