Job Description

As a member of an innovative and fast-paced startup, the successful candidate will have a passion for complex electro-mechanical systems, hands-on field work with attention to detail, troubleshooting, and system testing and validation. This is a hands-on role where hard work will be realized in real-world operations. As part of the rail operations group, this role will be responsible for the system testing, installation & commissioning, and customer field support of new and creative solutions to problems in the rail industry.


**Responsibilities**

* Communicate with clients to determine needs and explain complex issues

* Manage field activities and implement engineering designs

* Diagnose system and/or machinery problems

* Resolve malfunctions or other crises when they arise

* Oversee repairs and technical improvements

* Install new systems and technology

* Supervise and direct onsite crew (e.g. technicians)

* Draft and submit reports

* Develop test environments and test cases for all mechanical and electrical systems

* Analyze test results, detect issues and track root causes

US-REMOTE/HYBRID - Location preference is Dallas/Fort Worth, TX area. However, the company is open to hiring someone located in a market with a major airport hub (i.e. Atlanta, GA; Houston, TX; Miami, FL; Denver, CO; Chicago, IL; Philadelphia, PA; Boston, MA; etc.)

Requirements

**Qualifications**

* 5+ years of experience working in an electro-mechanical role with heavy machinery

* Ability to communicate with customers to determine needs and explain complex issues

* Manage field activities and implement engineering designs

* Ability to read and understand electrical wiring diagrams/schematics

* Working knowledge of Linux and network communication and routing

* Significant travel required (typical 60% with up to 80%)

* Ability to lift 75 Lbs. and climb onboard rail equipment

* Ability to climb through locomotive crawl spaces for wire runs

* US citizen
