Position Statement

Ensure each construction project is delivered in accordance with the drawings, specifications, and that the quality described in the contract documents is met, consistent with the client requirements.

  • To maintain a safe, tidy and orderly work environment at all times
  • Produce all assigned projects by the agreed completion date and where no date is agreed, in the shortest practicable timeframe that would be reasonably held to be best practice within the industry
  • To ensure assigned projects are delivered with minimal defects and to client satisfaction
  • To observe and provide feedback on design considerations on all projects
  • To ensure that all assigned projects on site are managed in an industry safe and sound manner observing all legal safety requirements as well as the companys WHSE&Q policies
  • To ensure that all dealings with clients, subcontractors and other stakeholders are undertaken with the highest degree of pride, consideration and workmanship to uphold the companys brand and reputation within the marketplace
  • To comply with Management expectations with regard to profitability and job execution on assigned projects
  • Daily reports to project manager and operations director on progress and planning i.e. next days work

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager in the formulation of overall work program and programs for each section/stage of the work to be completed
  • Participate in reviewing the program on a daily basis with the Project Manager
  • Ensure the agreed program is met for each component of the project and report any variances to the Project Manager and explain the reasons why
  • Ensure all aspects of the site and work to be completed is consistent with the agreed Project Safety Plan
  • Carry out site safety inductions, SWMS sign off for all employees and sub contractors also ensuring daily sign in is completed on each site register
  • Ensure that appropriate PPE is worn at all times by all employees, subcontractors and visitors to each site
  • Ensure the correct licenses are held for each person on site who is operating plant or equipment that requires a license
  • Ensure workers are qualified to undertake the role assigned to them
  • Ensure that equipment used on site is in a safe operating condition
  • Ensure the site is kept in a neat and tidy condition and employee amenities are clean, stocked and hygienic at all times
  • Initiate, control and check at regular intervals, all set outs whether carried out by PP/LDA staff or subcontractors
  • Maintain all survey, set out points and reduced level markers for the duration of the project
  • Co-ordinate the activities of all subcontractors by regular briefings and checks
  • Hold regular tool box meetings on site to discuss site issues
  • Examine regularly the performance of subcontractors and suppliers (productivity, quality, timing and presentation)
  • Advise the project manager on any non-conformance with sub-contractors
  • Report promptly to the Project Manager any subcontractor or supplier whose performance is substandard when compared to the sub-contract or the contract documentation
  • Ensure the quality of workmanship and materials supplied by subcontractors meet the requirements of the contract documents including but not limited to plans, specifications and FF&E schedules
  • Ensure the subcontractors fulfill the works required by them under their scope of works included in their contracts. Notify the Project Manager of any variances immediately
  • Ensure all requisitions are planned and submitted in advance
  • Ensure that materials are efficiently and securely stored on site to minimise double handling, theft and a clean site
  • Each delivery of goods is to be physically checked and counted for quality and quantity
  • Ensure materials are ordered and sequenced in a way as not to have the material stored on site for excessive periods
  • Seek the Project Managers approval for the purchase of goods, tools or equipment including hire items if required
  • Ensure delivery dates are met so that projects are not delayed
  • Ensure all property is securely stored at all times
  • In case of theft or break in notify the Project Manager immediately
  • Ensure that the site is secured and all temporary fences are in place at the completion of each work day
  • Ensure neighbouring sites are notified of noise/construction
  • Issue a duplicate set of Project keys to the Project Manager as practically possible as well as any codes to any lock box onsite.
  • Attend regular client meetings as directed by the Project Manager
  • Prepare a written list of items for discussion (requests for information, instructions, etc.) and submit a copy to the Project Manager prior to the meeting. Participate as an active and senior member of the Operations Team
  • Attend all scheduled PP/LDA meetings as directed by the Project Manager
  • Ensure that the site and all facilities are presented in a clean, orderly and professional manner at all times
  • Site Supervisors should be aware that they are not only representing PP/LDA but are working on behalf of the Client at all times and that neat and tidy dress sense is essential
  • Ensure trades and sub-contractors refrain from obscene language onsite at all times
  • Ensure that all trades maintain the above
