Position Overview
A healthcare organization in Spokane, Washington is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner specializing in Sleep Medicine to join its clinical team. In this role, you will help evaluate and support patients with cardiopulmonary and sleep-related conditions by performing sleep studies and respiratory assessments in accordance with physician orders and established clinical protocols.
This position requires strong technical knowledge of respiratory therapy and sleep diagnostics, as well as the ability to interpret clinical procedures and adapt to patient-specific situations. The practitioner may also serve in a shared leadership capacity, providing guidance to a small team during certain shifts.
You will work with patients of all ages and collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to support safe, high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct sleep studies and assist with diagnosing sleep-related breathing disorders.
  • Deliver respiratory care services based on physician orders and clinical protocols.
  • Monitor patient cardiopulmonary status and respond to clinical changes appropriately.
  • Operate and maintain sleep lab and respiratory therapy equipment.
  • Interpret technical standards and departmental procedures to resolve patient care situations.
  • Support daily workflow and occasionally act in a charge role supervising approximately three staff members.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AMA-accredited Respiratory Care program.
  • Washington Respiratory Care Practitioner License (required upon hire).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required upon hire).
  • Sleep Disorders Specialty (SDS) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care within 2 years of hire.
  • Recent hands-on experience working with sleep study technology.
  • Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or related field.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience performing sleep diagnostics in a hospital or clinical sleep lab environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple patient care tasks and respond to complex clinical scenarios.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
