Position Overview

An established healthcare organization in Lake Havasu City, Arizona is seeking an experienced RN leader to oversee its Emergency Services department. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Director will provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership while supporting a collaborative environment focused on quality care, teamwork, staff development, and continuous improvement.

The Emergency Department serves a diverse patient population and manages high-acuity cases, trauma, environmental emergencies, and fluctuations in patient volume associated with the area's tourism and outdoor recreation activity. The successful candidate will be a decisive nursing leader with strong critical-thinking skills and substantial Emergency Department experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall strategic and operational leadership for Emergency Services.
• Lead and support nursing staff while promoting teamwork, accountability, employee engagement, and a positive work environment.
• · Manage employee relations, performance management, conflict resolution, and staff satisfaction initiatives.
• Oversee staffing schedules, payroll processes, recruitment, onboarding, professional development, and student engagement.
• Develop staff capabilities and create opportunities for continued clinical and professional growth.
• Monitor departmental budgets and effectively manage operational resources.
• Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, clinical, and organizational requirements.
• Oversee departmental contracts and vendor relationships.
• Evaluate and justify equipment, technology, supply, and system needs while monitoring utilization and inventory.
• Ensure departmental equipment and supplies are appropriately maintained and available for patient care.
• Incorporate evidence-based practices into Emergency Department operations, workflows, and clinical protocols.
• Partner closely with physicians, nursing leadership, and other departments to support safe and effective patient care.
• Maintain an accessible leadership presence and encourage open communication with staff.
• Promote high standards for patient safety, clinical quality, service, and operational performance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
• Current Arizona RN license or qualifying Compact RN license with appropriate Arizona authorization.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current PALS certification.
• Current TNCC certification.
• Current Handle with Care certification.
• Emergency Department nursing experience.
• Demonstrated leadership experience within an Emergency Department setting.

Preferred Qualifications
