About the job M13 - Product Manager

We are looking for an Product Manager to support delivery of digital products. You will work closely with Product Managers, business stakeholders, and cross-functional engineering teams to support product strategy execution, backlog management, agile delivery, and stakeholder communications, including support during deployments and incident situations.

Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Backlog Management

  • Support the Product Manager in translating product vision and business outcomes into clear deliverables.
  • Assist to define and refine user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritised backlog items.
  • Maintain backlog hygiene (grooming, dependencies, sequencing) and ensure readiness for sprint execution.
  • Support tracking of product metrics, delivery progress, and release objectives.

Agile Delivery Execution

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, refinement, sprint planning, sprint review, and retrospectives.
  • Support sprint planning by coordinating story readiness, clarifying requirements, and aligning priorities with delivery capacity.
  • Work with Scrum Master/Delivery Leads to manage sprint scope, risks, and delivery milestones.

Coordination with Development & Technical Teams

Coordinate with development teams working on:

    • Backend: Node.js
    • Frontend: Angular
    • Database: Aurora MySQL, RDS SQL Server
    • Cloud: AWS (S3, Lambda, EC2, CodeDeploy, KMS, ELB, ECS Fargate)
    • OS: Amazon Linux 2023, Windows Server 2016/2019
    • Security/Monitoring: Microfocus Fortify, ClamAV, Splunk Universal Forwarder
  • Support technical discussions by documenting decisions, requirements clarifications, and non-functional expectations.
  • Assist in ensuring requirements consider operational readiness, monitoring, security scanning, and deployment constraints.

Stakeholder Communication & Operational Support

  • Assist in stakeholder updates on sprint progress, releases, and delivery risks/issues.
  • Support communications during deployments, production incidents, and service interruptions, including status updates and coordination of action items.
  • Contribute to preparation of release notes, user communications, and post-incident summaries where required.

Governance & Documentation

  • Maintain clear documentation for product requirements, scope changes, and release deliverables.
  • Support compliance to organisational governance practices (e.g., change control, approvals, audit readiness).

Requirements & Qualifications

Experience

  • 1–3 years experience in product management, business analysis, project delivery, or scrum/product support roles.
  • Hands-on exposure to Agile/Scrum delivery in cross-functional technology teams.
  • Experience supporting product backlog management using tools such as Jira / Confluence (or equivalent).

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong ability to write clear user stories, define acceptance criteria, and document functional requirements.
  • Comfortable coordinating with engineers and understanding delivery constraints in modern web applications.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based delivery environments (preferably AWS) and DevOps/CI-CD concepts.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including ability to produce clear updates under time pressure.
  • Structured, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
