Overview

We are looking for a Project Manager to oversee the operations and continuous delivery of a government digital platform that supports coordination across multiple agencies. This role is critical in ensuring system reliability, seamless integrations, and efficient service delivery for public-facing services.

You will work closely with government stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors to manage day-to-day operations, coordinate system integrations, and ensure timely resolution of issues. You will be responsible for end-to-end operational oversight, ensuring the platform remains stable, secure, and responsive to evolving policy and operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the public service platform, ensuring high system availability, performance, and reliability
  • Manage incident response, issue resolution, and service recovery, ensuring timely communication and minimal disruption
  • Coordinate system integrations with agencies and Town Councils, ensuring smooth onboarding, data flow, and interoperability
  • Lead change and release management activities, including planning, testing, deployment, and stakeholder communication
  • Collaborate with vendors and technical teams to deliver enhancements, resolve issues, and meet service level expectations
  • Monitor system performance and service metrics, implementing improvements to enhance operational efficiency and user experience
  • Maintain documentation, operational playbooks, and compliance with government IT policies and security standards

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in IT operations, system management, or technical project management
  • Experience managing enterprise or government systems with multiple integrations
  • Proven experience working in public sector or regulated environments
  • Strong understanding of system integration, APIs, and data flow management
  • Familiarity with cloud-based systems and distributed architectures
  • Experience with incident, change, and release management processes
  • Understanding of system monitoring, performance metrics, and service optimisation
  • Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills across agencies, vendors, and technical teams
  • Ability to manage incidents, risks, and operational issues under time pressure
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
  • Clear and effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability in delivery
