Basic Function :
Provide integrated and comprehensive data and information regarding environmental related condition as assigned, which will be used in further decisions for the determination of impact management strategies of the company.
Job Responsibility :
- Plan and develop detailed work plan to provide guidance to compile environmental data in order to achieve its objectives and strategies.
- Control implementation of the assigned work plan to ensure it achieves the program goals in an efficient and effective manner.
- Perform required assessments of the environmental data compilation to turn this data into usable and understandable information for the company.
- Provide comprehensive data and/or information in maps, graphs, reports and other formats as directed on a regular basis to update clients or any interested groups.
- Coordinate regular quality control checks of data entry, drafting, modeling, and other work completed by Environmental Data Compilation, to ensure that products in the areas assigned are accurate, consistent and complete.
- Provide and submit periodical report (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually) including data review and analysis to superior, which can be used as foundation for decision-making.
- Report observations on the environment in discussions, presentations and written formats as required, so that this information is understood by others, can be included in further compilation and interpretation of the data and so that company records are maintained for the future.
- Understand and be aware of safety and environmental practices in the work area ensuring safe work practices within the group and compliance with company Safety and Environmental's SOP.
The key challenges in this position include:
- Making decisions on the type and quantity of environmental data to be included in the interpretation is an essential part of this job so that consistency and accuracy of the interpretation process is constantly considered, evaluated and reviewed.
- Ensuring the following is done correctly: The consistent, accurate, factual environmental assessment and interpretation of the data is vital to the further modeling of the data for determination of impact management plans and procedures for the company.
The background, education, and work experience needed to succeed in this job are:
Minimum Education and Experience: Master's degree in marine science or biology at least 5 years working experience on marine biological monitoring (mining and/or industrial) and has proven ability to take environmental facts and produce interpreted environmental information from this data.
