About the job Maintenance Support - Chief Designer & Outsourcing
Coordinate and supervise activities in designing and drafting required by LIP Fabrication Shop, including checking thoroughly all drawings and details to ensure they are accurate in every detail.
The key duties and responsibilities of this position are:
- Develop project plan of activities in drafting and designing, in order to provide clear guidance for subordinates in performing their assignments and to achieve designated target.
- Organize and control drafting activities (e.g., work order, etc.) in order to meet project completion in effective and timely manner.
- Review drawing and design (including structural integrity and other dimension of drawings) according to QA/QC and other standard, in order to obtain maximum accuracy and comply with client and ISO requirements.
- Design the substitution of materials to ensure availability of substituted material that has identical mechanical and structural specification with the original materials according to cost effectiveness.
- Coordinate and communicate with client (including complain handling) on the subject of drawings or designs, in order to obtain and provide the most accurate and up to date information.
- Develop knowledge and skills of the subordinates in using various drafting techniques (e.g., AutoCAD, etc.). in order to improve professionalism and quality of work.
- Evaluate and provide solution regarding technical problems on day-to-day basis in accordance with engineering standards to ensure all draft and design to be provided in proper and timely manner.
- Organize all resources within his area of responsibility (e.g., material, time, people, etc.) in order to ensure completion of projects in cost effective, timely manner and comply with company's standard and procedure (e.g., safety, environmental, etc.).
The background, education, and work experience needed to succeed in this job are:
Minimum Education and Experience
Engineering Degree in Structural Steel with at least 5 years working experience as designer on a variety projects and 3 years using AutoCAD in practice.
Core Competencies(Knowledge, Skills & Characters)
° Broad knowledge of drafting and steel fabrication techniques.
° Good knowledge in the use of drawing software (e.g., AutoCAD, etc.).
° Good communication and interpersonalskills.
° In-depth knowledge of structural and mechanical Engineering.
