About the job Smelter Operation Readiness - Shift Operator PMR
The purpose of this position:
The Operator is responsible for performing his duties in operating several equipment and operational steps in achieving daily production activities safely in the PMR area which will include De-Copperization, Slime Handling, Wet Chlorination, Gold SX, PGM IX, Se/Te Reduction, HMP, De-Chlorination, Silver Leaching, Silver Precipitation, Silver Reduction, Lead Leaching, SSL.
The key duties and responsibilities of this position:
Occupational Safety and Environmental Aspects
1. Comply with all OHS and environmental management regulations within their work area, including the use of prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
2. Implement all directed OHS programs.
3. Conduct a Fatal Risk Management process as hazard mitigation, especially the implementation of standardized hazard controls at work.
4. Follow Safety talk and Environmental guidance before starting work or whenever given by Master Operator or Supervisor.
5. Able to stop work if there are hazards that have not been properly controlled, adding appropriate controls, before starting work again.
6. Comply with established standard work procedures (SOPs).
7. Able to communicate deficiencies of OHS matters found, including evaluation of standard work procedures, unsafe conditions, and unsafe behaviors.
8. Disciplined in keeping the work area clean.
9. Do the safety equipment inspection in the area (fire extinguishers, emergency lights, handrails, etc.)
Operational
1. Operate tools and equipment (including mobile equipment) to perform tasks in the PMR circuit assigned to the work shift. Types of equipment and activities in the PMR area: Tank, Agitator, Reactor, Pumps, Thickener, Scrubber, Conveyor, Filter, Heat Exchanger, Stripper, Condensor, Auto Sampler, Resin Coloumn, Au/Ag Caster, etc.
2. Fill in the Log Sheet with records of operational data such on the work of plant equipment in the field, reagent stock, and sample analysis. When changing shift, the records of work activity must be informed to the next shift.
3. Reporting to Master Operator or shift supervisor, and willing to work walking shifts, the factory operates 24 hours per day.
4. Conduct field inspections, and support daily maintenance activities.
5. Patrol the area. Including inspection and maintain all equipment.
6. Maintain a safe and tidy work area and report damage, incidents, and unsafe conditions.
7. Provide work activity reports to Master Operator (log sheet).
8. Attend pre-shift meeting and follow the direction of the shift change.
9. Participate in Shutdown/Start-up activities.
10. Fully support emergency recovery efforts.
11. Perform work in accordance with the standard procedures that have been given (SOP).
12. Perform an initial inspection of both operating and non-operating equipment in the plant.
13. Optimize plant operational processes through process monitoring with relevant indicators.
14. Transferring responsibilities and tasks from to the other shift (shift hand over) include all information on each piece of equipment.
During the detailed engineering, construction, operational readiness, and commissioning phases of the project
1. Familiar with design, engineering aspects, and safety aspects of assigned area.
2. Participate in several training programs as mandated for business needs.
3. Participate in the classroom training.
4. Involved in the execution of pre-commissioning and commissioning activities within the appropriate technical scope and area.
5. Assist with other Operational readiness efforts as required.

The background, education, and work experience needed to succeed in this job are:
Education, certification, and experience:
Minimum High school or more than 3 years of operational experience in chemical plants, metal smelters, or mineral processing plants.
Experience working with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Experience working in leaching, filtering, precipitation, sementation, casting.
