About the job Dewatering Plant - Engineer, RCM Infrared

The purpose of this position is:

The purpose of this position is to support the reliability and availability of plants and equipment across Dewatering Plant (DWP), Pipeline Maintenance, and all PTFI Lowland operational areas by implementing Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) strategies and performing condition monitoring using Infrared (IR) thermography technology.

The key duties and responsibilities of this position are:

  1. RCM & Reliability Analysis
  • Perform RCM analysis to identify equipment functions, failure modes, and appropriate maintenance strategies.
  • Develop and optimize maintenance plans based on reliability principles and condition monitoring results.
  • Contribute to failure mode identification and continuous improvement of maintenance strategies.

2.   Infrared Thermography (IR Inspection)

  • Conduct infrared thermography inspections on electrical and mechanical equipment across DWP, Pipeline, and all Lowland operational areas.
  • Identify abnormal temperature patterns indicating potential failures such as overheating, loose connections, or mechanical issues.
  • Ensure proper use, calibration, and handling of IR equipment.

3.   Condition Monitoring & Data Collection

  • Collect equipment condition data using standardized routes, tools, and processes.
  • Execute condition monitoring activities across multiple operational sites within PTFI Lowland.
  • Verify that collected data is accurate, consistent, and representative of actual equipment conditions.

4.   Analysis, Reporting & Recommendation

  • Analyze thermography data and condition monitoring results to determine equipment health status.
  • Prepare structured reports and generate work orders for findings requiring maintenance action.
  • Provide recommendations to prevent recurrence of failures and improve equipment reliability.

5.   Failure Analysis & Continuous Improvement

  • Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment failures by providing condition monitoring data.
  • Collect failed components and relevant evidence to support detailed analysis.
  • Share lessons learned and reliability data across similar equipment and sites, including cross-area implementation within Lowland operations.

6.   Safety, Compliance & Inspection Reporting

  • Perform visual inspections related to safety, environmental, and structural conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with HSSE standards across all assigned operational areas.
  • Maintain proper documentation for audit, regulatory, and warranty purposes.

7.   Cross-Functional Support

  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams across DWP, Pipeline, and other Lowland areas.
  • Support condition monitoring and reliability improvement initiatives across multiple sites.
  • Provide technical input on equipment condition and maintenance prioritization at area and site level.

8.   Capability Development & Certification

  • Maintain required certifications in Infrared Thermography and reliability practices.
  • Support training and knowledge transfer related to RCM and condition monitoring technologies across teams.
