About the role

The primary purpose of this role is lead customer application developer for Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (BC).   It exists primarily to provide development, consultancy, delivery activity and ongoing development of the Microsoft Dynamics ERP Practice to businesses within the Australian and New Zealand market.

This role could be based in East coast of Australia or New Zealand and offers hybrid working.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

The key responsibilities and associated duties of the position fall into the following main areas:

Involvement in technical activities for Microsoft Dynamics Business Central and Fujitsu Solutions which includes:

  • Lead the technical design, customization, and development of Dynamics 365 Business Central solutions (on-prem and SaaS).
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and solution architectures.
  • Manage integrations between BC and external systems (e.g., CRM, third-party APIs).
  • Work with Azure AD, Power Automate, Power BI and other Microsoft tools to extend BC capabilities.
  • Ensure code quality, performance, and upgrade readiness by enforcing best practices and DevOps processes.
  • Guide and review work of BC developers, providing mentorship and code reviews.
  • Collaborate with functional consultants on solution design and issue resolution.
  • manage environment setup, deployment pipelines, and release management.
  • Maintain documentation for all technical deliverables and processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in live environments.
  • Develop and maintain ISV and AppSource applications

Required Skills and Experience

  • 8+ years of technical experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Business Central.
  • Strong hands-on experience in AL, C/AL, and BC extension model.
  • Experience with Business Central APIs, OData, web services,
  • Deep understanding of BC architecture, upgrade paths, and extension-based development.
  • Familiar with Azure AD, Power Platform, DevOps pipelines, and Git.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL Server, BC performance optimization, and security setup.
  • Experience in on-prem to SaaS upgrades and environment administration.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage project delivery in an agile or hybrid environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience in Azure Functions and logic apps will be an added advantage

Desired

  • Business Analysis certification.
  • Microsoft D365 Business Central Technical certification MB-820
  • Microsoft Power Platform PL-900
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Success by Design Methodology
  • Experience working with industry-led digital traceability & transformation initiatives.
  • Exposure to data integration, workflow automation, or quality assurance platforms.
  • Experience in IT projects (Agile or Waterfall methodologies).
