About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Specialist with deep expertise in SQL Always On technology to design, review, and enhance high-availability systems across industries. This role ensures system resilience, scalability, and reliability through expert analysis and implementation.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Design & Architecture Lead the design and implementation of SQL Always On-based messaging systems for maximum uptime and performance.
- System Review Assess existing deployments, provide expert recommendations, and drive improvements.
- High Availability Solutions Develop and maintain robust clustering, replication, and failover strategies.
- Performance Optimization Tune configurations, manage resources, and apply best practices for efficiency.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting Establish proactive monitoring and swiftly resolve system issues.
- Documentation Maintain clear, detailed records of designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Collaboration Work closely with development, operations, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Training & Mentorship Guide junior team members on SQL Always On best practices and high-availability strategies.
Requirements and Experience
Technical Skills:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years focused on SQL Always On and high availability systems.
- In-depth knowledge of SQL Always On, including clustering, mirrored queues, and quorum queues.
- Experience with high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace).
- Strong understanding of networking, load balancing, and security principles.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
- Certification in SQL Always On or related technologies.
- Experience with high availability solutions on Hybrid infrastructure
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
