About the role
Were looking for a driven and experienced Team Leader - Gateway Operations to lead a high-performing team responsible for the secure and seamless operation of a critical Gateway environment. In this pivotal role, you will provide strategic direction, hands-on leadership, and day-to-day support to ensure your team is equipped with the right tools, resources, and processes to deliver results in a complex, high-security setting.
You will play a key role in upholding the security, stability, and performance of the Gateway, while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within your team.
An active NV2 Security Clearance is an essential requirement.
About you
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Manage the Security Engineer team members
- Provide advice concerning capabilities and technical direction in conjunction with the SME
- Ensure team members are provided with the tools required to perform their tasks
- Project/Sustainment Tasks:
- Build/Deploy new devices/capability into the Gateway environments
- Maintain Gateway documentation
- Provide support and technical expertise to Defence projects as required
- Review project documentation before capability is moved into BAU space
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise to Defence as required
- Represent client in meetings where required
- Identify continual service improvement tasks and implement.
- Conduct 1 on 1 meetings offering feedback and recognition, and addressing training and HR matters are crucial aspects of supporting team member development.
- Emphasizing a customer-centric approach, you will focus on meeting customer requirements and delivering excellent service.
- Compliance with Defence security guidelines is essential and you will guide team members in meeting these requirements.
- Key Performance Indicators: Leadership and Team Management, Incident/Service Requests, Technical expertise and Documentation and Process Improvement.
Requirements:
- NV2 Security Clearance
- Similar experience within large Government organisations/Defence
- Experience in leading teams, preferably technical teams
- Experience in managing customer expectations and delivering with the support of a team
- Network experience switches, routers
- General Firewall understanding preferably a mixture of Stateful and Layer 7
- Firewalls Proxy experience Solaris or Linux/Unix knowledge understanding ofcommands and concepts is required
- Mail understanding the setup and maintenance of Servers and clients
- Trouble shooting experience - the ability to perform/lead root cause analysis on network/computer issues on clients, servers and network equipment.
- A general understanding of Computer/Network Security Policies and enforcement
- Load Balancing experience
- Understanding of supporting a DNS environment
- Understanding of supporting Windows Server and associated domains.
- General scripting skills Shell, Perl,etc.
