About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software License Management (SLM) Specialist , delivering ServiceNow projects and services focused on Software Asset Management (SAM) that ensure a high degree of satisfaction to the customer.

Location flexible across east coast of Australia, Melbourne location (preferred).

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Deliver hands-on ServiceNow SAM solutions (implementation, configuration, process design) to clients with a focus on accuracy, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with clients to design and document SAM processes, incorporating best practices (ITIL, Gartner ITAM, ISO 19770-1).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders, providing trusted advice on risk management, process improvements, and cost optimization.
  • Influence new engagements and identify opportunities within client organizations.
  • Support internal teams and vendors by resolving issues and providing escalation support.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the hiring process.
  • Educate clients on SAM Pro features, reporting, and remediation actions to maintain compliance.

Requirements and Experience

Mandatory Experience

  • Extensive experience in ServiceNow SAM implementations and configurations.
  • Expertise in software license compliance, optimization, and governance frameworks for major software publishers (Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, etc.).
  • Proven ability to conduct SAM maturity assessments and roadmap development.
  • Experience in ITAM tools (ServiceNow SAM Pro, Flexera, Snow, etc.) and knowledge of IT infrastructure.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to lead workshops and deliver strategic guidance.
  • Experience in audit defense, risk mitigation, and managing software audits.
  • Knowledge of complex software licensing models (e.g., IBM PVU, AU).

Desired Experience & Knowledge / Other Relevant Information

  • Experience with SaaS Management & Optimization.
  • Additional ServiceNow Certifications.
  • ITIL Foundation Certified.
  • Experience in customer success management, including customer education & enablement, KPI development & performance tracking, cross-functional team collaboration, and stakeholder management.
  • Experience in conducting operational health checks, reviews & ROI assessments to deliver actionable recommendations & quick wins.
  • Experience in providing software vendor audit defense support.

Education

  • 5+ years successful SAM project and services delivery, 2+ years of proven experience on ServiceNow SAM Pro.
  • General understanding of ServiceNow licensing.
  • IT Degree or relevant tertiary education in Computer Science or related field.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • ITIL Foundation Certification.
  • ServiceNow CSA.
  • ServiceNow SAM CIS good to have.
