Role Scope

Lead the market and feasibility response for ground-scanning methods applicable to dense urban underground infrastructure.

The RFI concerns a secure 3D data-sharing platform for built and natural underground assets, including water and sewer pipes, gas lines, electrical conduits, fiber-optic cables, and soil composition. Responses must address feasible sensing, data-integration, accuracy, security, and operating approaches without presenting the notice as an awarded implementation contract.

Core Responsibilities

• Compare applicable ground-penetrating radar, electromagnetic, acoustic, LiDAR-adjacent, robotic, and other non-destructive sensing approaches for NYC conditions.
• Document achievable depth, resolution, positional accuracy, surface/access constraints, false-positive risks, safety considerations, and validation methods.
• Develop evidence-based RFI recommendations, assumptions, limitations, deployment scenarios, and questions for the 3D Underground program.
