Job Title: Senior Data Analyst

Job Type: Contract – Remote

Location: South Africa

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the collection, cleaning, and analysis of data from various sources to support strategic business decisions.
  • Develop and oversee databases, data systems, and data collection processes.
  • Interpret data, analyse results using advanced statistical techniques, and provide comprehensive reports.
  • Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Collaborate with senior management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Define new process improvement opportunities and lead their implementation.
  • Mentor and guide junior data analysts and other team members.
  • Work closely with IT and business teams to implement data-driven solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, or Statistics.
  • Extensive experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role, with a proven track record of delivering actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in advanced data analysis tools and software (e.g., SQL, Excel, R, (Python – AI/ML libraries), Git and Github, Google Colab, AutoML platforms)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Jupyter notebook) is highly desirable.
