The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Operations Manager Power & Electrification to lead the operational and commercial performance of our Power & Electrification business unit. Based in Melbourne, Sydney, or Brisbane, this role will oversee delivery excellence across transmission, distribution, grid connection, electrification, and data centre projects.

This is a senior leadership position combining strategic planning with hands-on project oversight ideal for a results-driven professional who thrives on building strong teams, improving operational systems, and delivering exceptional outcomes for clients in the power and energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project delivery excellence across power transmission, distribution, and renewable integration projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement through enhanced project management frameworks and delivery systems.
  • Oversee tender strategy, quality, and win-rate performance across the business unit.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships with utilities, government agencies, and industry partners.
  • Ensure high-quality technical and commercial outcomes through effective governance and risk management.
  • Drive financial performance, including revenue, profitability, and operational efficiency.
  • Mentor and empower multidisciplinary teams to achieve performance and growth goals.
  • Represent the Group at industry forums, contributing to our reputation as a trusted advisor and thought leader in the power sector.

About You

You are a proven operational leader with deep industry knowledge and a passion for shaping the future of Australia's energy landscape. You combine technical credibility with strong commercial acumen and a collaborative leadership style.

You'll bring:

  • Degree-qualified in Engineering (Masters or MBA highly regarded).
  • 12-15 years' experience within the power and electrification sector, including 57 years in operational leadership.
  • Strong understanding of transmission, distribution, substations, and grid connection systems.
  • Proven experience leading project performance improvements and tender excellence initiatives.
  • Demonstrated commercial and financial management capability.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status (highly desirable).
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
