A family are seeking an exceptional live-in nanny to join them on a long-term basis as they relocate from London to their new home near Ascot this summer. Their current Norland nanny of nearly three years is only leaving due to the move (and would be happy to talk to the candidates), and the family are hoping to find someone equally wonderful to become a valued part of family life.
Their daughter, aged three, will begin at a local pre-prep in September, just a three minute walk from the house, attending from 8am to 3pm. She is an energetic, funny, and engaging little girl with a particular fondness for anything related to space and Thomas the Tank Engine. She loves being a big sister, running around, drawing, and music. Their one-year-old son is currently at home full-time, enjoying classes and activities throughout the week, with some nursery sessions likely to be introduced over the coming year before moving towards full-time nursery in September 2028. He is easy going and particularly cheery, and enjoying his new found freedom from being able to walk, trying to keep up with his big sister. He loves music and is starting to make friends at his classes.
This is a fully sole charge role involving all nursery duties, school runs, planning fun and engaging activities, outings and classes with the youngest child during the day, afternoon pick-ups and adventures, followed by dinner, bath, and bedtime routines.
Both parents work full-time in London (with some work from home days), and there is a separate cleaner/housekeeper who manages most of the household cleaning and laundry, allowing the nanny's focus to remain on the children. Whilst the nanny's primary focus is cooking for the children, the parents would also really appreciate it if, when they are at home and time allows, there is enough prepared for the adults too / for the freezer.
The family are looking for someone positive, honest, and fun. They love spending time outdoors and living an active lifestyle, which is reflected in their new home with its large garden, swimming pool, tennis court, and gym, all of which the nanny is very welcome to enjoy. They are looking for someone warm, proactive, and energetic who enjoys getting stuck in, loves being outside with the children, and is naturally active. The family are looking for a genuine "third parent" - someone who runs the children's lives with warmth, patience, clear boundaries; takes initiative on the wider rhythm of the household, and sees what needs doing without being asked.
Travel is occasional throughout the year, including trips to Cornwall spread across three to four weeks annually, with the nanny accompanying the family for around half of this time. The family are very respectful of the nanny having their own life outside of work and are flexible and accommodating in this regard.
