Children: B2 and baby girl due in November
Start: September - October
A family based in Belgravia are looking for a nanny to join them long term. They have a little boy who is about to turn two, and are expecting a baby girl in November, so the role starts as sole charge of a happy toddler and grows into caring for two. The family have a maternity nurse / midwife who will help with the newborn for the first 4-6 weeks.
Both parents work full time. Mum runs a private travel company and won't be going on a traditional maternity leave set up. So while mum will be around at home to begin with, this is very much a sole-charge role.
Their little boy is active, chatty and very social, with lots of energy. His current obsession is anything with wheels, especially tractors and diggers, and he loves being outside and playing in the garden. He is also a big fan of books, with Spot the Dog a long-standing favourite. He is a super happy toddler who loves being around people and meeting new friends. He starts nursery in September, two hours a day.
As a family they are all very close, and both parents like to be really involved with the children and everything they do. They see it as a team effort and would welcome the right nanny as one of the family, always on hand to support and genuinely flexible. They are keen to make the role work for the right person, which is why there is real give in the hours.
The family would love a nanny who enjoys cooking nutritional food for the little boy, and for the baby once she starts weaning. This would be a big help.
They enjoy a bit of travel and would love a nanny who is happy to come along. Expect around two to three trips a year, abroad and occasionally to Staffordshire. Next year, during dad's paternity leave, they are hoping to go away for around a month and would love the nanny to join them.
A car is not essential, but there is a car available for the nanny to use. No pets.
The family are lucky to be right in the heart of Belgravia, a few minutes from Victoria Station. Despite being so central, the area is very village-like, right next to Elizabeth Street and Eccleston Yards with their cafés, independent shops and restaurants. Chelsea and Sloane Square are a short walk, and there is access to a private garden square with a lovely playground and plenty of space for the children to run around.
