A family is searching for an experienced and nurturing nanny to join them in caring for their first child, who will be 4 months old in January 2027.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience caring for young babies, with Norland training or similar childcare qualifications highly valued. A calm and reassuring presence is important, alongside someone who genuinely enjoys becoming part of a long-term family set-up, as the parents hope to grow their family in the future.

Both parents have demanding professional careers within the city and are looking for a knowledgeable, confident nanny who can guide them through this new chapter with reassurance and flexibility. As first-time parents, they would love someone who can take a proactive and supportive approach to all areas of baby and child-care and development.

The family's current plan is for both parents to take time at home together until January, when Mum will transition back into self-employed work with Dad returning to employed work shortly after. Both often work from home; they hope to create a collaborative and family-focused environment while trusting the nanny's professional judgement and autonomous planning.

The family are looking for someone calm, dependable and flexible, as their professional lives can involve changing schedules and long days. Typical hours are expected to be around 7am–7pm, with evening and weekend babysitting required on occasion.

The family also have a friendly Labrador. A dog walker visits every weekday, though they would appreciate a nanny who is comfortable occasionally helping out if plans change unexpectedly and who is comfortable with a dog in the home environment.

The family are very happy for the nanny to take the baby out and about, planning outings and activities independently. They are ideally located within short walking distance of numerous city parks and gardens and amenities such as the local library, with easy access to the Southbank and central London as well as to wider areas of London such as Greenwich and Dulwich.

A second language such as French, German or Spanish would be considered a bonus, though is by no means essential. Driving would also be welcomed (the family have a car) though is not a requirement, as the area is very well connected by public transport. Travelling with the family will be offered on occasion, but not expected.

A cleaner attends the home twice per week, though nursery and housekeeping duties relating to the baby, including the child's laundry, will form part of the role.
