The Family
A family based in Central London is seeking an experienced, proactive and highly organised Rota Nanny / Children's PA to join their staffed household.
The family have two daughters (13 & 15) both attending a day school in Central London. The family also have a country home where they spend regular weekends and school holidays.
Along with the two daughters, the family also has a lovely Labrador who is a key part of their life.
The girls have a range of hobbies, from drama to art to music to horse riding, with the latter being a sport that both girls are pursuing actively and regularly.
The Role
This role combines tailored care for the two girls with organisational and administrative support. It requires a candidate who can move seamlessly between hands-on care and the practical management of two busy teenagers' lives. The successful candidate will be calm, discreet, highly adaptable and confident managing both the children's needs and the day-to-day demands of a busy, fast-paced household.
They will be a capable, trusted adult — someone who keeps things running smoothly, provides a steady and supportive presence, and exercises good judgment across a wide variety of situations.
The role is live-in, one week on and one week off, based primarily in London but with regular time at the family's country home. The successful candidate will work closely with the other rota nanny and as well as the housekeepers who also work on a rota basis.
Key Responsibilities
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Care & Wellbeing
- Ensuring the children's health, safety and overall wellbeing at all times
- Being a reliable, responsible adult presence in the home
- Supporting emotional and social development with a calm, age-appropriate approach
- Preparing well-balanced, nutritious meals and eating with the girls where possible
- Caring for the children when unwell, including administering prescribed medication
- Maintaining routines and consistency, particularly across rota changeovers and between the London and country homes.
Organisation & Administration
- Managing the children's schedules, travel, logistics and daily routines with precision - school runs, after-school activities, social commitments, doctors' appointments
- Coordinating appointments (medical, dental, educational, extracurricular) Managing day-to-day administration: school bags, kit, supplies, clothing orders, presents and cards for friends
- Keeping detailed records and maintaining smooth handovers between rota weeks
- Communicating openly with the Principals about the children's wellbeing, routines and anything they need to know
- Acting as a key point of communication between the Principals, household staff, family office and external contacts where required
- Anticipating needs and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations
- There is an opportunity for the Nanny, if interested, to work alongside experienced EAs to advance their own skills in this area of work.
Travel & Wardrobe
- Travelling with the children domestically and internationally, preparing for holidays, weekend visits and family trips
- Packing, organising travel logistics and managing schedules across both homes
- Overseeing the children's wardrobe, laundry, ironing and mending
- Preparing for occasions such as birthday parties and events
Household
- Caring for the family dog as part of the daily routine (feeding, vet appointments and general care). Walking not required on a regular basis as the family have a dog walker.
- Keeping the car you use clean and in good order, with a full tank of fuel
- Working closely with the other rota nanny, the housekeepers and Family Office team to ensure consistency and a well-run home
Candidate Requirements
- The family has employed Norland trained nannies thus far but welcome all candidates suitable for this position
- An ability to focus on the girls but also on their family dog
- Minimum 5 years' experience
- Demonstrated longevity in previous positions
- Ideally, some experience with teenagers and an understanding of the distinct needs of this age group
- Strong organisational skills with a proactive, forward-thinking approach
- Confident with digital tools — scheduling, messaging, basic spreadsheets, previous experience of PA responsibilities within a family would be desirable
- A calm, positive and discreet demeanour
- A kind but firm approach with natural authority
- High emotional intelligence and patience
- Impeccable presentation and professionalism
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Full flexibility, including willingness to travel with the family
