*seeking a Norland Nanny*
A family based in Chelsea is looking for an experienced, professional nanny to care for their three children, aged 10, 8 and 5. This is a predominantly term-time-only position, making it an excellent opportunity for a nanny, with approximately 34 working weeks per year and around 18 weeks off during school holidays.
The family is looking for someone who can provide an organised and nurturing presence throughout the school week. The role centres around the children's school routine, with working hours of 7.00 am - 9.00 am and 3.00 pm - 8.00 pm. Between 9.00 am and 3.00 pm, while the children are at school, the nanny will be responsible for completing all household duties relating to the children. Once these responsibilities have been completed, the nanny is welcome to organise their time as they wish. While this period offers a great deal of flexibility, the nanny will remain on duty during these hours and should be available should a child become unwell, need collecting from school, or if occasional household matters, such as accepting a delivery, arise. The family appreciates that some periods of the year are naturally busier than others, while quieter weeks may require a little less during the daytime.
The children attend school, which is conveniently located within walking distance of the family home, eliminating the need for a driver. The eldest and youngest have around a seven-minute walk to school, while their daughter is just a three-minute walk away. The nanny should be happy to support the children by accompanying them to activities, encouraging their interests, while remaining flexible as schedules and commitments change throughout the year.
Mum is based abroad for work during the week and is typically away from home Monday to Friday. Despite this, she remains very involved in the children's lives through regular FaceTime and Zoom calls, helping with activities such as violin practice, organising schedules and staying closely connected to their day-to-day lives. Dad returns home at around 7.30 pm each evening and takes over from the nanny.
The nanny will take responsibility for ensuring the children's mornings run smoothly, organising school uniforms and bags, preparing everything needed for the day ahead and supporting a calm start to the morning.
During the daytime, responsibilities will include planning and preparing healthy meals for the children, managing grocery orders, keeping the children's wardrobes organised, rotating clothing where needed, maintaining tidy play areas and toys, and generally ensuring the children's spaces remain well organised. A cleaner attends the property three times per week and takes care of the family's ironing, allowing the nanny to focus on the children's needs and the smooth running of the household.
The family enjoys travelling together during school holidays to spend time with relatives, which is why childcare is not required during half terms or school holidays.
