Salary: £50,000

Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 7.30am to 6.30pm

Child: One little boy, aged two

Start Date: From 27 November 2026

A family based in Ealing, London, are seeking a kind, experienced and developmentally focused nanny for their two-year-old son. Both parents are doctors with busy careers, and they are looking for someone who will become a trusted part of family life for the long term. Commitment matters a great deal to them, and they would love to find a nanny who is ready to settle in and stay.

Their son turned two in September. He is a sociable, happy little boy who loves books, singing and stories on his Toniebox, along with animals, cars, trucks and stickers. He is happiest when he is busy, whether that is swimming, soft play, climbing, or catching up with friends at the family's members' club. Museums, Kew Gardens, parks and duck ponds are all favourites, and he loves being outdoors.

He was born prematurely at 33 weeks and is small for his age. He is supported by a paediatrician, dietitian, speech and language therapist and allergy service, and all of them are happy with how he is developing. He has multiple food allergies, managed through a clear and straightforward plan from the allergy clinic, and the family would like a nanny who is confident and calm about it, with current EpiPen training. Food is the area that needs the most care. Someone patient and positive who will prepare fresh, home-cooked meals around his dietary needs and support his eating at his own pace, without pressure.

The days are active and varied, with plenty of time out and about. A typical day might be half spent on a planned activity and half on free play, with swimming lessons, playdates, outings and days in nature mixed through the week. The family are flexible about what he does, but they like there to be some intention behind it, including gentle exposure to the things he will meet at preschool such as colours, shapes, numbers, letters, emotions, self-care and practical Montessori-style skills. He will start part-time preschool next year, around three hours a day at a school in Kew, so helping him build the confidence and communication for that step is a big part of the role.

The family's approach is gentle and consistent. He has structured days and clear boundaries, and when he is upset, they want calm, redirection and reassurance. Shouting, punishment and time out are not something they use. They are looking for someone emotionally attuned who can help him with big feelings and stay kind but firm, and who keeps weekdays screen-free.

The parents give their nanny plenty of autonomy and also like to be involved, so regular, thoughtful updates and a willingness to share ideas about what is best for him are important.

Alongside his care, the nanny will look after his laundry and keep his nursery, playroom, toys and personal-care items clean and organised.

Family is close by and very supportive. On Fridays he spends the day with his grandparents on dad's side. His grandma on mum's side lives in the family home and loves to join for a walk now and then, and she is happy to lend an extra pair of hands if needed. Someone who enjoys being around family and is happy to have a cup of tea with a grandparent will fit in very well.

The family live in a leafy, green part of Ealing, about seven minutes' drive from Chiswick High Road, and spend a lot of time in Richmond too. Driving is part of the week, with around 15 minutes to preschool and 20 minutes to swimming, so the nanny should ideally have their own car to use. The role also includes occasional pre-agreed evening babysitting and the rare late finish if the parents are held up at work.
