A family based on an estate in New Zealand are seeking a Norland Nanny to join their household on a 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off rota, with an anticipated start date of May 2027.

The position begins with an initial three-month period of travel through the UK and Europe, which will form the probationary period of the role. During this period, the candidate will understand that flexibility is essential as the itinerary and schedule may change. The schedule will involve a 45-50 hour working week, with days off included, and the nanny will have separate accommodation. Following this initial probationary period, the nanny will be based in New Zealand as part of the family's 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off rota.

This is a particularly special opportunity for a nanny who is drawn to an international lifestyle and loves to travel. The family have a two year old daughter, with their second baby due in November, and are looking for someone who will become an important and trusted part of their family. Their current nanny has been with them since their daughter was born, making this a rare opportunity to step into a very well-established and warmly run household.

The family travel extensively throughout the year, spending approximately five months travelling internationally. Destinations typically include Los Angeles, Sydney, Italy, London. Their travel is generally well planned, although plans can naturally change, so the ideal nanny will be highly adaptable and excited by the lifestyle. The family also spend time on their yacht throughout the year, so the successful candidate should feel comfortable and at ease around boats and enjoy being on the water.

When at home in New Zealand, the family live on private property surrounded by lakes, native bush and beautiful grounds. Family time is incredibly important to them, and although both parents work, they are intentional about making the most of their time together - whether that is rowing on the pond, exploring the estate, or simply enjoying time together as a family. Mum is around, and the role will naturally involve some shared care, while Dad is also present when his work allows. The family work hard but places enormous value on enjoying life together.

The family have just completed a brand-new, private nanny apartment, which has never been lived in. Attached to the main house but with its own separate entrance, the apartment has been beautifully designed with a bedroom, living space and a fully equipped kitchen. The estate is extensive, with golf carts available to make getting around easy, and the nanny will also have use of a Tesla.

There are also plenty of animals and nature to enjoy around the property, including pigs, chickens and a five-metre aquarium in the kitchen.

The nanny will take the lead on the children's day-to-day care, supporting their development, routines, activities and learning. Their daughter enjoys a wonderful range of activities, including ballet and cooking classes, and she has previously attended nursery, which they may reintroduce when the family are back into a settled routine (the family are currently visiting Canada - returning home shortly). This will also allow the nanny to have more dedicated time with the baby. The family are looking for someone who will bring creativity, energy and enthusiasm to the children's development, while also being confident caring for both children as their needs evolve.

There is an extensive household team supporting the family, including a chef and house manager, meaning this is very much a child-focused position. The chef prepares lunch and dinner for the family, although the nanny will occasionally be expected to prepare breakfast and simple meals for the children when the chef is off.

The candidate must show initiative and attention to detail. The role includes keeping on top of the children's wardrobe and ensuring outgrown clothes are removed, ordering toiletries before they run out, and managing children's appointments and activities. While the wider household team does not work weekends, the nanny will occasionally pick up small tasks that need doing to keep the children's world running smoothly.
