About the job Rota Nanny | Chelsea, London 2
Position Type: Rota Nanny
Location: London, with travel to Europe and the US
Salary: From £65,000++
Schedule: 24/7 rota, Monday to Monday, 14 days on / 14 days off
Start Date: ASAP
A family based in London are seeking an experienced rota nanny to join their established team and care for their three boys, aged 9, 7 and 6.
The boys are happy, healthy and active, and they already have good routines in place. They are at school during the day and have a busy, varied life outside it, with activities, playdates, travel and plenty of family time. The family are relaxed and kind, and respect, good values and strong relationships are at the centre of their home. A large, friendly household team supports them, so teamwork and clear communication matter a great deal.
The parents are closely involved in the boys' lives and want a nanny who supports them as parents rather than one who takes their place. You will work in partnership with them, respect their parenting choices and keep clear professional boundaries, while taking full responsibility for the boys when on duty. You will need to read the room well, knowing when the parents want to be involved, when they need support and when to step back and give them space.
You will join a team of four rota nannies, with two on duty at any one time. The nannies share responsibility and support one another, and each also needs to be confident working independently. The team does a full handover every Monday to keep care consistent. Annual leave is taken during your scheduled time off, and Christmas is worked every other year as part of the rota.
Day to day, the nannies give the boys a fun, active and well-rounded childhood. This means taking them to activities, classes and playdates, supporting homework and school routines, preparing healthy meals and encouraging good habits, good manners and kindness towards others. You will help the boys grow in confidence and independence, keeping to their routines while staying flexible around family life. You will also manage the children's home and school administration and their busy diaries, liaise closely with the parents and the family's EA, pack and prepare for frequent travel, and keep wardrobes, uniforms and belongings to an exemplary standard.
The family travel during holidays, mainly over half terms and school holidays, to destinations in Europe and the US, and the nanny on duty travels with them. When on duty in London, you will have a private bedroom and share a bathroom with the other nanny on duty. Occasionally, when travelling or when guests are staying, you may need to share a bedroom with one of the boys.
The family are looking for someone experienced, hardworking and highly organised, who is kind, patient and emotionally intelligent, and who has the energy and imagination to enjoy boys of this age. You will need to be proactive, discreet, adaptable to a busy household and confident communicating with the parents, the EA and the wider team. Above all, they want a nanny who is secure in their professional role and able to take charge when needed, while understanding that they are there to complement the parents.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional nanny to join a supportive household that values its staff and to become part of a strong, settled team.
