The position would suit someone who is confident balancing structured learning with a natural, nurturing approach to childcare, and who enjoys working as part of a collaborative, fully staffed household.

The Role

You will be responsible for supporting the children's educational development while also assisting with day-to-day care alongside the nanny team. The focus is on creating a consistent, engaging and developmentally appropriate learning environment, both at home and while travelling.

You will work on a rota schedule (one month on / one month off), providing continuity in both care and education during your time on duty.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver a structured but engaging educational programme, in line with EYFS through to Key Stage 1 Tailor learning to each child's stage of development, interests and learning style Keep track of progress and provide regular, clear reports, including next steps in learning Create a balance of play-based learning, routine and exploration Support early literacy, numeracy and communication skills in a natural and enjoyable way

Alongside the educational side, you will:

  • Work closely with the nanny team to support daily routines and overall wellbeing
  • Step in where needed with typical nanny duties (meals, routines, play, transitions)
  • Help prepare for travel and ensure educational materials are organised and accessible
  • Keep children's spaces and belongings tidy and well organised
  • Be proactive in creating a calm, positive and structured environment

Working Style

This is a team-based role, so being easy to work with and adaptable is key. You will be reporting to the Chief of Staff to the Nursery and liaising daily with Lead Nanny and other team members, so clear communication and a collaborative approach are essential. You will be working with a fully staffed household.

The family are very hands-on and value their time together, so someone who is intuitive, discreet and able to read the room will fit well in this environment.

Requirements

  • A recognised teaching qualification (Early Years to Key Stage 1)
  • Experience working as both a a nanny and a teacher within a private household is desirable.
  • Confident working in a fully staffed home and as part of a team
  • Strong understanding of early years development and early primary education
  • Organised, proactive and able to take initiative
  • Adaptable, ideally with experience working within classroom settings and private homes. Warm, engaging and genuinely interested in children's development
