POSITION OVERVIEW:

The client is looking to hire a Project Engineer for its Los Angeles headquarters. This role provides a growth-focused career path in structural engineering, allowing the chosen candidate to collaborate with Project Managers and structural engineers on large-scale, complex projects.

In this position, the Project Engineer will contribute significantly to structural design, detailing, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams, gaining valuable experience across a range of dynamic and challenging assignments.

Must-Have Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum 3-6+ years of building design experience.

Education: Masters degree in Structural Engineering from a U.S. university.

Technical Expertise:

Strong experience in Type I construction (steel and concrete structures).

Ability to design and detail large, complex structural systems across multiple market sectors.

Proficiency in Revit and ability to coordinate with draftspersons, architects, and consultants.

Strong understanding of building codes, seismic analysis, and structural design principles.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications: 

Experience working with DSA and OSHPD (preferred but not required).

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and detail structural systems for large, complex projects in various market sectors.

Collaborate with Project Managers, Revit draftspersons, architects, and consultants to ensure project success.

Ensure compliance with building codes, seismic regulations, and industry standards.

Perform structural analysis, calculations, and detailing for steel and concrete structures.

Participate in client meetings, technical presentations, and project coordination efforts.

Assist in mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team development.
