Job Purpose: The Embassy seeks to recruit a reliable and experienced Driver and Administrative Assistant to the Embassy. You will be one of four drivers working with the day to day driving duties. The embassy is looking for a flexible team player to join their team.
The role will be assigned secondary responsibility for the reception and other administrative tasks. The ideal candidate should be a good team player with a high level of integrity and very good command of the English language. The candidate must hold the ability to prioritize and work efficiently under high workload. The drivers work as a team of four together with the receptionist within the administrative section of the Embassy.
The team serves the entire Embassy with driving orders, messenger services and other appropriate tasks. The drivers work on a rotational duty scheme for evenings and weekends. Occasional travelling within Kenya is necessary.

The Embassy represents and advances Swedish policies, interests and values in political and economic relations, development cooperation, in trade and investment promotion and in cultural and information matters. It provides consular services to Swedish nationals and migration services to non-nationals.
Key Roles & Responsibility
- Drive Embassy officials and other authorized passengers on official duty
- Responsible for daily caretaking and maintenance of allocated vehicles
- Secondary responsibility for the reception and other administrative tasks as needed
- Collect, distribute mail and carry out errands
- Other tasks as assigned.
- The Driver will be part of the Embassy's Administrative Section, report to The Head of Administration and work closely with other Heads of Sections. The workplace will mainly be at the Embassy in Nairobi, with duty trips on a rotational basis.
The preferred candidate will meet the following requirements:
Education and experience
- Level Certificate or KCSE Certificate
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Swahili
- Experience and proficiency in Microsoft programs such as, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Clean driving license and current Certificate of Good Conduct
- Minimum 5 years of driving experience in and outside Nairobi
- Documented defensive and evasive driving skills
- Documented experience with administrative work and/or work as a receptionist
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to carry a process forward, to follow up and to finalize tasks
- Flexible approach and service oriented

- Fluency in Somali language is an added advantage
- Work experience from other diplomatic missions or international organisations
- Documented experience of driving armoured vehicles
