About the Embassy

The Embassy advances Swedish policies, interests, and values in bilateral and regional political relations, development cooperation, trade and investment promotion, and cultural and public diplomacy. It also provides consular services to Swedish nationals and migration services to non-nationals. The working language at the Embassy is English.
About the Administrative and Consular Section:
The Administrative and Consular Section supports the overall operations of the Embassy by providing administrative services, logistics, driving support, reception services, and consular assistance. The drivers work as a team of four together with the receptionist to serve the entire Embassy. The team operates on a rotational duty scheme, including evenings and weekends, and occasionally undertakes duty travel within Kenya.
The Embassy is seeking to recruit a reliable, service-oriented, and experienced Driver & Administrative Assistant to support the Administrative and Consular Section. The role combines professional driving duties with secondary responsibilities in reception and administrative support. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, manage a high workload, and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Drive Embassy officials and other authorized passengers on official duty.
- Ensure daily care taking, cleanliness, and routine maintenance of allocated Embassy vehicles.
- Provide secondary support to reception and general administrative tasks as required
- Collect and distribute mail, documents, and official correspondence.
- Carry out errands and logistical support duties for the Embassy.
- Participate in rotational evening and weekend duty schedules.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Administration.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- KCSE / O-Level Certificate.
- Excellent written and spoken English and Swahili.
- Minimum of five (5) years professional driving experience, both within and outside Nairobi.
- Clean driving license and a valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
- Documented training in defensive and evasive driving.
- Proven experience in administrative duties and/or reception work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable Experience
- Work experience with diplomatic missions, international organizations, or similar institutions.
- Documented experience driving armored vehicles.
- Fluency in Somali or additional languages.
- A-Level Certificate or other post-secondary education.

Making relocation arrangements and covering relocation costs.
