Reports To: General Manager
Location: Eldoret
Gross Salary: KES. 115,000
Client & Role Description;
Our client, a fast-growing dealer and distributor of orthopaedic, pharmaceutical, and medical products based in Eldoret. They seek to recruit a highly competent and results-driven Finance Manager to lead and oversee the organization's finance function.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic financial leadership, ensuring sound financial management, compliance, budgeting, reporting, and implementation of robust internal controls to support business growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the development and implementation of finance strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with the company's objectives and vision.
- Oversee financial management operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and annual planning processes.
- Ensure proper utilization and accountability of company financial resources.
- Supervise and manage the performance of finance staff and support implementation of performance management systems within the department.
- Provide strategic financial advice to management to support decision-making and business growth.
- Develop departmental financial plans and ensure timely achievement of financial obligations.
- Coordinate and oversee all finance department functions, operations, and activities.
- Prepare and present financial reports to management and provide guidance on financial performance.
- Advise management on acquisition, utilization, and disposal of company assets.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, legal, regulatory, and tax obligations.
- Provide financial guidance on contractual and statutory matters affecting the business.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure availability of supporting documentation.
- Review, verify, and approve payments within approved limits and company policies.
- Oversee accounting processes related to imports and exports where applicable.
- Ensure effective use and management of accounting systems and ERP solutions.
- Implement and maintain strong internal control systems and risk management practices.
- Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by management from time to time.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- CPA (K) qualification or equivalent professional certification is mandatory.
- Membership to a relevant professional body is preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in a finance management role within a reputable organization.
- Experience in pharmaceuticals, medical products, orthopaedics, or related industries will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage.
- Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting standards, taxation, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience handling import and export accounting processes is desirable.
