Role Overview
Our client, a well-established textile company of Indian origin expanding its operations into Kenya is looking for a dynamic and performance-driven Sales Executive – Sales Packtech Exports to support and manage international sales activities, export operations, customer relationships, and market expansion initiatives for the Packtech business.
Key Responsibilities
1. International Business Development
- Identify and develop new export opportunities across international markets including the Middle East, Europe, Africa, the US, and other regions.
- Generate leads and support conversion of prospects into long-term customers.
- Assist in appointing and coordinating with distributors, agents, and channel partners.
- Participate in international exhibitions, trade fairs, and customer meetings to promote business growth.
- Support market expansion activities and customer acquisition initiatives.
2. Key Account Management
- Maintain strong relationships with existing international customers and accounts.
- Coordinate with customers regarding quotations, orders, shipment schedules, and commercial requirements.
- Support pricing discussions, negotiations, and contract execution.
- Ensure timely response to customer inquiries, complaints, and escalations.
- Focus on customer satisfaction and repeat business generation.
3. Pricing & Commercial Coordination
- Assist in preparing export pricing considering:
- Raw material cost fluctuations
- Freight and logistics expenses
- Market competition
- Forex impact
- Coordinate with internal teams to maintain target margins (CM1/CM2).
- Support commercial decision-making during changing market conditions.
- Prepare quotations and commercial proposals for international customers.
4. Export & Import Operations and Documentation
- Handle export and import documentation processes including; Proforma Invoice, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Letter of Credit (LC) documentation, Bill of Lading (BL), Certificate of Origin and Shipping and customs documents.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and export standards.
- Coordinate with CHA, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and logistics providers for timely dispatches.
- Track shipments and ensure smooth order execution from dispatch to delivery.
5. Supply Chain Coordination
- Coordinate with production, planning, procurement, and logistics teams for order fulfillment.
- Monitor dispatch schedules and shipment timelines to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Support resolution of operational issues related to raw material shortages, logistics delays, and supply disruptions.
- Maintain proper communication between customers and internal departments.
6. Market Intelligence
- Monitor global market trends in packaging products such as nets, films, woven products, and related Packtech solutions.
- Track competitor activities, pricing trends, and market developments.
- Share customer feedback and market insights for business improvement and new product opportunities.
7. Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Procurement teams on sourcing and raw material coordination
- Finance teams on payments, LC handling, collections, and forex matters
- Quality teams on product specifications, certifications, and customer requirements
- Ensure alignment between customer expectations and operational execution.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Good understanding of export/import procedures and documentation.
- Familiarity with; Incoterms, LC documentation, Forex and international trade processes
- Knowledge of international sales coordination and export logistics.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
- Problem-solving ability with strong execution focus.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, International Trade, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in export sales and operations within Packaging, Plastics, FMCG, or Industrial Products industries.
- Experience in handling export and import operations is preferred.
- Exposure to international customer handling and export documentation processes is essential.
