Position Overview:

Our client is looking for an experienced GPS Tracking & Telematics Technician specializing in the installation and maintenance of GPS tracking devices, fuel sensors, and telematics hardware. This role requires a hands-on professional with deep knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and experience working with fleet management solutions. The ideal candidate must be highly technical, detail-oriented, and capable of independently managing field installations and client support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and commission GPS tracking devices, fuel level sensors, and telematics hardware on various types of vehicles and heavy equipment (e.g., cars, trucks, generators).
• Accurately wire and integrate devices with vehicle electrical systems following best practices and safety standards.
• Calibrate fuel sensors and configure IoT hardware to ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
• Ensure proper software-to-hardware integration with the company's fleet management platform.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot installation and operational issues, both on-site and remotely.
• Maintain detailed records of each installation, including configuration settings, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting logs.
• Provide client training and onboarding on system usage and performance monitoring.
• Collaborate with the operations and software teams to streamline deployment and support workflows.
• Perform routine maintenance and respond to urgent service requests as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

Must-Have:

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in GPS tracking device and fuel sensor installation.
• Proficient understanding of vehicle electrical and wiring systems.
• Strong practical skills in using hand tools, multimeters, and diagnostic hardware.
• Proven experience with fleet management systems and telematics platforms.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and client-handling abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a technical team.
• Fluency in Somali and working knowledge of English is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical diploma or certification in automotive electronics, mechatronics, or a related field.
• Previous experience in installing devices for logistics, construction fleets, or fuel monitoring systems.
• Familiarity with software platforms like Wialon, Ruptela, Teltonika, or similar.
