Salary: KES 60,000 – 70,000 per month

About the Role

Our client, a reputable educational institution in Nairobi, is seeking a proactive and organised HR Officer to support the school's human resource functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing HR operations, ensuring compliance with labour laws, supporting recruitment processes, maintaining employee records, and promoting a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding process for teaching and non-teaching staff.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate staff induction, training, and performance management activities.
  • Monitor employee attendance, leave records, and disciplinary matters.
  • Prepare HR reports and maintain HR databases.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and school policies.
  • Support payroll administration by providing accurate employee information.
  • Address employee inquiries and provide HR-related guidance.
  • Foster positive employee relations and workplace culture.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional HR certification (CHRP-K or equivalent) is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years' experience in a Human Resources role.
  • Experience working in a school or educational institution will be an added advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
