A Senior Account Executive (SAE) should be a reliable communications/PR professional able to handle a broad variety of clients within the pharma/life science category with a high degree of independence and sound judgment. An SAE is entrusted to lead projects from concept through execution with limited oversight. They use sound judgement to balance independence with the need for senior support. They must also have outstanding writing, media/investor, research/analytical and project management skills; the ability to effectively counsel clients; the potential to conceptualize/develop programs; and the ability to think strategically.

The candidate should be able to plan and successfully execute strategic media relations campaigns. The specialist should have expert-level knowledge of the media landscape, news cycle, journalists, editors, and media outlets. Further, the media specialist must possess deep knowledge of the scope of media reporting biotechnology news, including the top-tier journalists who influence news trends. This individual should leverage their expertise both as a counselor to clients and as a mentor to colleagues.

Account Management

• Manages all aspects of small accounts, projects, and events, and contributes to larger accounts

• Serves as clients’ point-of-contact, as appropriate

• Interfaces with clients and colleagues in a professional, positive and appropriate manner, both verbally and in written communications

• Supervises/mentors junior staff

• Reviews/approves wide range of materials to ensure high-quality, client-ready product

• Ensures the timely production of deliverables

• Is familiar with clients’ business objectives and agency plans for respective accounts

• Has deep understanding of clients’ business and market dynamics, including competitive landscape

• Develops strong relationships with clients to build trust in abilities to counsel and in the agency

• Understands clients’ internal structure and process, as relevant to our support

• Liaises with vendors, advocacy groups, professional societies, and colleagues on behalf of client

• Pursues opportunities for enhancing involvement and contributions to the account, team and agency

• Increasingly demonstrates ability to manage agency and client resources
