Our client is currently seeking to hire a Food Production and Sanitation Supervisor
for our foodservice manufacturing facility in Hillside, NJ. The
candidate must be bilingual (English/Spanish).
The production and sanitation supervisor is responsible for production operations on the third shift. This supervisor reports to the production manager. The position supervises a group of 20-25 hourly employees. This position is responsible for the supervision and coordination of sanitation and production worker activities in processing materials and manufacturing products.
This position supports the production team by directing work activities to maintain the cleanliness of the physical plant and equipment, including the building structure and process equipment, within cleaning time deadlines. This position will lead sanitation and interact with warehouse, quality assurance, human resources and operations staff to ensure the production of products meeting quality standards in a timely fashion. Safety is a primary objective, following established GMP, safety, regulatory and company procedures and policies.
Duties & Responsibilities:
-Supervises third shift production staff to attain safety, quality, GMP, and production objectives.

-Executes production schedule for the shift. Monitors production performance to plan rates.
-Issues production jobs to the production teams and lines. Verifies material issued and returned from each production job.
-Ensures all paperwork is collected, completed, and submitted for production job closing.
-Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials or supplies as required.
-Supervises the sanitation function of the process and packaging operation. Coordinates the daily sanitation tasks. Work with quality technicians to ensure sanitation is complete and lines are ready for use. Documents in sanitation master log that tasks are complete.
-As required, troubleshoots and conducts root cause analysis for process or equipment problems in order to minimize production line downtime.
-Communicates with day shift production supervisors, production scheduler, maintenance, and inventory control as to follow-up actions coming onto the shift and actions requiring attention after third shift completion.
