Audit Senior Not-For-Profit

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Audit Senior to join our team at GCO Partners. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information for our clients in the charitable sector. You will manage audits in line with the Charity and/or Further Education SORP, supervise junior team members, and engage directly with Trustees and audit committees.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and finalize audits for charitable organisations (incorporated and unincorporated).

• Draft financial statements for charities in accordance with Charity SORP and/or Further Education SORP.

• Report audit findings to Trustee bodies and/or audit committees.

• Review and supervise the work of junior team members.

• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, meeting strict deadlines.

• Manage multiple engagements while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.

• Apply fund accounting principles and sector-specific requirements effectively.

Qualifications and Experience

• CCAB qualified or part-qualified (ACA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent).

• 1-2 Years post-article experience in external audit.

• Proven audit experience within the charitable or not-for-profit sector.

• Strong understanding of fund accounting and related reporting requirements.

• Demonstrated experience drafting financial statements for charities.

• Detailed knowledge of Charity SORP and/or Further Education SORP standards.
