We have an exciting opportunity for an External Audit Senior to join our dynamic team at Gold City Offshoring based in Cape Town or Johannesburg.

Location: Cape Town or Johannesburg (Hybrid)

Contract Term: 12 Month Annual Renewable Contract

Role overview

As a Semi - Audit Senior, you will be responsible for assisting in planning and executing audit engagements, perform audit testing, maintain documentation, and collaborate with a team of auditors.

Responsibilities:

• Executing planned audit procedures under the guidance of the audit senior or supervisor as required.
• Assisting in the preparation of initial accounts drafts and cross-referencing disclosures against the relevant checklist.
• Serving as a primary point of contact for the client during on-site visits, ensuring prompt resolution of any inquiries, even beyond the fieldwork phase.
• Previous experience auditing UK or US-based clients is highly advantageous.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, US GAAP, IFRS, and International Auditing Standards.
• Identifying weaknesses in the client's systems and controls and offering sensible suggestions for enhancements.
• Keeping the audit senior informed of any emerging issues.
• Collaborating with the audit senior to discuss and agree upon potential audit adjustments during fieldwork.
• Promptly notifying the audit senior of any potential time overruns as they become evident.
• Taking responsibility for addressing review comments and managing follow-up queries until the audit report is finalized.

Requirements:

• Must have Completed/Signed-Off Articles or close to sign-off (1month) with at least 1 year post-article experience.
• Part-Qualified - Completed Board 1 (The Initial Test of Competence (ITC)) SAICA Exams
• Proficiency in working within a team on external audit assignments, from planning to fieldwork and completion stages under International Standards on Auditing
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility and a commitment to maintaining a high level of quality service.
• Sound knowledge of accounting and auditing concepts, with the awareness of one's own limitations and when to seek assistance.
