Role Overview
We are seeking a technically strong and highly reliable Senior Accounting & Tax Specialist with proven experience in both accounting and U.S. tax to support our clients U.S. team remotely. This role is ideal for someone with a blend of U.S. tax preparation expertise and practical accounting knowledge. You will be expected to handle complex tax filings, review and reconcile accounting data, and deliver consistent, high-quality work with minimal supervision. Strong communication skills and accountability for assigned deliverables are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare U.S. tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S-corporations, and LLCs.
- Review and reconcile accounting data from QuickBooks Online and other accounting sources.
- Prepare tax workpapers, schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Assist with cross-border compliance such as Form 5471, FBAR, and PFIC reporting (training/support provided if needed).
- Collaborate with team leads to ensure tax and accounting deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain internal tracking tools and procedures for consistent, up-to-date reporting.
- Ensure work is well-organized, accurate, and ready for final review.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of combined experience in U.S. tax preparation and accounting within a public accounting firm (CPA practice).
- Strong knowledge of U.S. tax for businesses and individuals, including complex filings.
- Solid accounting knowledge, including reconciliations and financial data review.
- Ability to prepare tax returns independently and meet U.S. tax season deadlines.
- Proficiency in cloud-based tools (e.g., Lacerte, QuickBooks Online, Google Workspace).
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to manage own tasks without oversight.
- Strong attention to detail, consistency, and follow-through.
- Familiarity with international tax components (Form 5471, FBAR, PFICs) preferred; willingness to learn is essential.
