Role Overview
As a Bookkeeper, you will work closely with clients to manage their day-to-day bookkeeping, ensure accuracy of financial records, and support year-end close processes. This is a client-facing role requiring excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver reliable, high-quality service. Will need to have a full understanding of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities

General bookkeeping (bank reconciliations, expenses, VAT/PAYE reconciliations).

Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers.

Preparing and reconciling management accounts.

VAT registration and preparation of returns.

Addressing accruals and deferred income considerations.

Rectifying historic bookkeeping issues.

Reconciling Xero financial reports (trial balance) to statutory accounts.

Providing support on VAT and PAYE-related matters.

Delivering excellent client service across all engagements.
What Were Looking For

Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP.

Proficiency with Xero and QuickBooks; familiarity with sales/payment platforms integrated with these systems.

Proven experience delivering bookkeeping services in a practice environment or to a client base.

Strong communication skills and ability to build trusted client relationships.

Ability to manage end-to-end bookkeeping cycles with attention to detail and accuracy.
Understanding of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulatory requirements.
