Gentis Solutions is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a full-time, direct-hire position, with one of our clients. The Manufacturing Engineer will provide engineering support to machinists in the form of CNC programming, process improvement, quality improvement, and cost reduction efforts. This position will assist production by designing and developing tooling, gauging, and testing equipment to ensure production deadlines are met and customer specifications are achieved.

Requirements

  • 2-year Associate Degree required; 4-year Engineering Degree (BS, BSET, or equivalent) preferred
  • 2 years minimum CNC programming experience required; experience with MasterCam, Mazatrol, AutoCAD Inventor, Creo or similar software preferred
  • 3 years of demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in a wide range of manufacturing processes required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Requires minimum supervision, except in areas of a unique aspect
  • 3D solid modeling & simulation tool experience preferred
  • Proficient with precision measuring equipment
  • Knowledge & expertise in metal cutting machine control system integration
  • Understands and applies standard project management methodologies

    Typical Duties

      • Analyze production processes, schedules, and methods to provide management with recommendations for process improvement and/or equipment change
      • Process job releases from Engineering, route jobs and manipulate job tree to release jobs to manufacturing floor or purchasing as required
      • Review and calculate labor, material and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making
      • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency
      • Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services and make sure that manufacturers' procedures and instructions are followed in order to keep production equipment operational
      • Apply knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials to manufacturing processes
      • Research, design, modify and test manufacturing methods and equipment
      • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout
      • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods to test finished product and process capabilities
      • Establish manufacturing standards
      • Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs
      • Review production schedules for coverage and accuracy to ensure customer deadlines are met
      • Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
      • Maintain product and company reputation by complying with quality management and safety regulations
      • Ensure that the company's manufacturing processes are in compliance with all government laws and regulations
      • Complete design and development projects by training and guiding technicians
      • Program CNC machining centers to perform specified manufacturing operations
      • Assist machinists in the set-up and operation of CNC machining centers.
