Vehicle Control System Engineer

Gentis Solutions is seeking a Vehicle Control System Engineer for a full-time, direct-hire role with one of our clients in Cincinnati, OH. The ideal candidate will have a passion for autonomous driving technology and making this new technology into innovative products.  This role offers a hybrid work style.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of control algorithms such as linear and nonlinear control, optimal control, adaptive control, etc.
• This role calls for experience with C++ or Python
• Capable of analyzing dynamic model performance in MATLAB/Simulink via data analysis
• Understanding the linear and nonlinear behavior of complex physical systems
• Understand the key methods for parameter and state estimation in the field of autonomous driving
• Knowledge in control design and stability of linear and nonlinear systems
• Strong communication and preference to work in teams
• Desire to work in a startup business environment

Desirable Skills

• Programming knowledge in C++ and ROS is a big plus
• Understand the concepts of Perception - Static and Dynamic objects, Ego localization, OEDR (Object and Event Detection & response)
• Familiar with hardware used for self-driving cars
• Understand the safety frameworks and current industry practices for vehicle development
• Experience with product development, launching products into production, failure analyses such as DFMEA, design validation testing, and supporting production end-of-line functional tests and calibration

Typical Duties

• To develop and test control algorithms to be implemented on an autonomous vehicle
• To verify the proper performance of the algorithms over time
• To identify the critical states and parameters of the system
• Design the tests for parameter estimation and model verification in the real environment
• Aide in developing vehicle's dynamic models
• Work cross-functionally with various groups including, path planning, localization, perception, etc.
