Advanced Simulation Engineer

Gentis Solutions is seeking an Advanced Simulation Engineer for a full-time position with a nationwide engineering firm that partners with companies across North America. The ideal candidate will be proficient in working through all aspects of the product development and engineering process including requirements definition, conceptualization, design, implementation, test, and documentation. Requirements

• MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited school required
• 7+ years experience required
• Significant recent experience using fundamental engineering mechanics skills required
• Significant current experience in non-linear computational modeling using Hexagon (MSCs family of CAE products) for a wide range of applications related to:
  • Rigid Body Dynamics (ADAMS)
  • Kinematics (ADAMS)
  • Implicit and Explicit Finite Element Methods (MARC)
  • Automation of Computational Modeling
• Python scripting for visualization, data analytics and post processing
• Must be highly innovative with the ability to work on own initiative
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must have strong problem-solving skills
• Must have the ability and desire to be client facing at times
• Ability to creatively apply engineering principles and tools
• Must be able to work in the USA without sponsorship or need for future sponsorship

Desirable Skills

• Experience or knowledge of medical device development
• Demonstrated knowledge of human anatomy and surgical physiology
• Knowledge of and experience with GD&T
• Data Analysis experience (Minitab, JMP, R)
• Test Fixture design and development experience
• DFM and DFA knowledge and experience
• Understanding of materials (polymers, metals)
• Programming experience

Typical Duties

• Participate in projects involving failure analysis, design/process optimization, product development and cost reduction in a broad range of medical, pharmaceutical and consumer applications
• Working through all aspects of the product development and engineering process including requirements definition, conceptualization, design, implementation, test, and documentation
