STS Content Specialist

Gentis Solutions is seeking an STS Content Specialist to join our team. This full-time contract-to-hire position is with an industry-leading data analytics firm interested in full-time flex/remote consultants. The ideal candidates will have the required skills listed below and will be eligible and open to being hired by the data firm at the end of the project's duration. This position will work alongside an existing team and leverages enterprise-level technologies and processes.

Requirements

• Experience with MadCap Flare & MadCap Central or similar help authoring tool (required)
• Some familiarity with common software engineering, architectural technologies, and best practices is beneficial
• Experience with or basic understanding of API documentation
• Strong technical aptitude: ability to understand and contextualize complex topics (i.e., shopper analytics)
• Ability to write in both explanatory and procedural styles for multiple learning types; understand adult learning concepts
• Collaborative relationship builder, question asker and problem solver
• At least 2 years experience in a similar role
• Basic coding knowledge. Does not need to develop code, but should know enough to format, discuss, and document code snippets

Desirable Skills

• Preferred Bachelors Degree in Technical Writing, Communication, or related field

Typical Duties

• Manage and administer content management system (MadCap Flare and MadCap Central)
• Assist in determining the learning needs of end users by engaging and partnering with key product, business, and training stakeholders
• Assist in determining the clearest and most logical way to present information and instructors for greatest learner comprehension
• Work within the boundaries and demands of the Agile planning process to plan, design, develop, organize, write, and review code documentation, technical help content, release notes, and other relevant product and educational updates
• Remain updated on technological and product developments as well as relevant universal specifications in the industry
• Analyze peer documents to maintain continuity of content and style
• Gather usability feedback from clients, designers, and users
• Create processes to manage updates and revisions to technical literature
