Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager Sourcing & Development to lead all aspects of new product development and customer sampling. This role requires strong technical understanding of fabrics, trims, and materials, along with the ability to interpret tech packs and deliver high-quality developments. The ideal candidate will have a strong network of commercial textile units, vendors, and sample rooms, and be able to manage the sourcing of all components required for sampling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the end-to-end product development and sampling process, ensuring alignment with buyer expectations and timelines.
  • Read, understand, and execute detailed technical specifications (tech packs) for new developments.
  • Source and coordinate with vendors and factories for sample production across woven and knit fashion garments and accessories.
  • Maintain a strong working network of reliable vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers to support fast and flexible development cycles.
  • Source all materials, trims, accessories, and fabrics required for development, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality standards.
  • Stay updated on fabric trends, local and international markets, and sourcing channels to ensure innovative and timely material sourcing.
  • Liaise with team and clients to understand briefs, share progress updates, and obtain approvals.
  • Maintain trackers and documentation for sample status, development timelines, and vendor interactions.
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities for both sampling and production feasibility, focusing on quality and turnaround time.
  • Ensure that all developments meet required cost, quality, and delivery (CQD) standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3-6 years of experience in textile product development, sourcing, or merchandising.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret tech packs and manage sample execution.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrics, trims, accessories, and textile construction methods.
  • In-depth understanding of material sourcing, including vendors, mills, and markets (local & international).
  • Experience working with commercial textile manufacturing units and sample rooms.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and vendor negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and T&A tracking tools.
