About the job IT Systems & Applications Support Engineer

  • Manage and support a cloud-based email system such as Microsoft 365, ensuring no on-premise email servers are maintained at the hotel
  • Administer and support hotel systems including OPERA Cloud PMS, SiteMinder, SynXis, and Symphony POS
  • Ensure all local PCs and business files are securely backed up to network drives or approved cloud storage solutions
  • Oversee daily IT operations related to email hosting, system availability, and data protection
  • Coordinate with authorized vendors for installation, configuration, and support of PMS and POS systems
  • Maintain OPI and IFC servers to ensure seamless connectivity between PMS, POS, and payment gateway systems
  • Work closely with the authorized POS vendor to support Symphony POS integration with OPERA Cloud for room postings
  • Liaise with banks and payment service providers for card terminal provisioning and ongoing technical support
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and connectivity across all hotel applications
  • Provide first-level technical support to hotel staff for IT systems, applications, and basic infrastructure issues
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and operational procedures
  • Maintain system documentation, configuration records, and operational procedure
  • Support audits, system upgrades, and technology improvements as required

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Proven experience supporting hotel systems such as OPERA Cloud PMS, Symphony POS, SiteMinder, or similar hospitality applications
  • Experience managing cloud-based email platforms such as Microsoft 365
  • Good understanding of system integrations between PMS, POS, and payment gateways
  • Experience handling PC, file backup, and cloud or network storage solutions
  • Familiarity with OPI and IFC server environments and connectivity management
  • Ability to coordinate with external vendors and service providers for system installation and support
  • Knowledge of basic networking, system administration, and IT security practices
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with hotel operations teams
  • Ability to manage multiple systems and priorities in a live hospitality environment
  • Willingness to provide on-site IT support and work in a hybrid operational setup
  • Experience in hospitality IT operations is a strong advantage
