Senior Quality Assurance Engineer (Manual)

Test Design & Execution

• Develop, document, and execute detailed test plans, scripts and test cases across web, desktop and mobile applications.
• Perform manual functional, regression, integration and acceptance testing.
• Conduct usability testing ensuring user experience and functionality standards are met.

Requirements & Test Planning

• Review business requirements and translate them into structured testing activities.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and scrum teams to ensure full test coverage.
• Independently analyse complex scenarios and define appropriate testing scope.

Defect Identification & Documentation

• Accurately capture, track and manage defects using test management tools (e.g., Jira).
• Perform root cause analysis and verify defect fixes.
• Provide test reports, execution updates and risk assessment.

Testing Expertise

• Apply testing fundamentals and techniques across manual testing disciplines including functional, regression, integration and UAT.
• Perform API testing using tools such as Postman.
• Write and execute SQL queries to validate data and back-end logic.

Collaboration & Communication

• Communicate risks, issues and test coverage clearly to stakeholders.
• Work closely within Agile squads, participating actively in sprint ceremonies.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Continuous Improvement

• Support enhancement of processes, standards and QA documentation.
• Contribute to evaluation of new tools and emerging test techniques.
• Advocate for best practices and quality improvements across squads.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 5+ years experience in manual testing.
• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, SDLC and STLC.
• Hands-on experience designing and executing test cases and test plans.
• Experience with defect and test management tools (Jira or similar).
• Working knowledge of SQL and complex database queries.
• Experience in API testing (Postman or similar).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a squad.
